Viginia M. Martin

Virginia M. Martin, age 80 of Balsam Lake, WI formerly of Clear Lake, WI died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at her home.

Virginia Mae Martin was born on December 18, 1932, in Clear Lake, WI, the daughter  of John & Dena (Gullickson) Peterson.   She was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church, at Clear Lake, attended school and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1951.   On November 9, 1956, Virginia was married to Wilbur Martin at Clear Lake.  They made their home in Clear Lake, together operating a dairy farm and raising three children, Peggy, Kevin, and Maria.  After many years of a dairy farming, in Clear Lake and in Range, WI, in 1994 they  retired and moved  to Balsam Lake, WI.  In her spare time, Virginia enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and taking care of those around her.  She was a very strong and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Virginia won her nine year battle with Lymphoma and after Wilbur’s death in 2006, she moved in and made her home with her daughter Maria in Balsam Lake.  She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Martin; son, Kevin Martin; 
daughter, Peggy Hansen; 
her parents, John & Dena  Peterson; 
brothers & sisters, Douglas Peterson, Lawrence Peterson, & Earl Peterson,
Carol Moskal, & June Dietrich.

Memorial Services on Tuesday, September 17, at 1:00pm from the Scheuermann Funeral Home in Clear Lake, WI.  Visitiation one hour before the services.
