Theodore R. Stumo, age 86 of Clear Lake, WI, died early Thursday morning, April 14, 2016 , at the Willow Ridge Care Center in Amery, WI where he had been a resident for the past 3 years.
Theodore Ralph Stumo was born on February 17, 1930, in Clayton, WI, the son of Theodore & Edith (Norden) Stumo. He grew up in Clayton, and was baptized at Moe Lutheran Church in Clear Lake and confirmed at the West Mission Covenant Church in Clayton Township. Theodore joined the US Navy in 1947 and honorably served for 20 years. During this time he received his GED and became a Chief Petty Officer electrician. Theodore was married on August 17, 1963 to Joanne Schlicht at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistadt, WI. Together they raised three sons; Jevon, Theodore & Matt. After he was discharged from the Navy in 1967, Theodore went to work at Stockers Refrigeration in Amery, WI for several years. In 1973, Theodore began farming in Clear Lake, WI raising beef and dairy cattle. He was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery, serving as an usher for many years and on the property committee. In his spare time, Theodore enjoyed hunting, hiking, and traveling, especially trips to Alaska and the Grand Canyon. After retiring from farming in 1986, he and Joanne spent their winters in Arizona and California. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
