Russell S. Booth, age 96 of Clear Lake, WI, died on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Willow Ridge Healthcare in Amery, WI.
Russell St. Clair Booth was born on September 23, 1920 in Clear Lake, WI the son of Robert “Roy” & Frances (Turrittin) Booth. He was baptized at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Clear Lake, WI and attended Clear Lake grade school through 3rd grade. Russell moved to Milwaukee with his family and was confirmed at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. He graduated from Custer High School in 1938 and moved to Reeve, WI in 1939. Russell married Thelma Lenselink on May 21, 1944 at the Kemper Memorial Chapel of Grace Episcopal Church in Rice Lake, WI. Together they operated a dairy farm for 25 years that had been owned by his grandfather, George Booth. They farmed there until their children, Jan, Melody, and Fred graduated from high school. In 1968, Russ and Thelma moved to White Bear Lake, MN where he was a custodian for White Bear Lake Schools. In 1975, they returned to Clear Lake and farmed. They relocated to the Ridgeview Apartments in 2007. Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and attending high school sporting events. He was a life-long member of St.Barnabas Episcopal Church in Clear Lake. His church was very special to him because his father and grandfather had helped build it. Since June of 2016, Russ has been a resident at Willow Ridge Healthcare in Amery. His family appreciates Karen Pederson, Willow Ridge staff and Adoray Home Health & Hospice staff for their special loving care. Russell was very proud that he and Thelma were married for over 72 years! One of the last things he said to Thelma was, “Remember, you’re the only girl I ever loved.” Russell’s love for his family and sense of humor were appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Roy” & Frances Booth;
his infant brother Roy, Jr. and brother Douglas; and sister in law Lorraine Booth.
