Rose E. Alvermann (Thompson), age 88 of Forest Township, WI, died on Friday , February 20, 2015, at the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home in Amery, WI.
Rose Elizabeth Alvermann was born on August 28, 1926, in Franklin, New Hampshire, the daughter of Clinton & Rose (Wilson) Tilton. She was the youngest of 8 children. Rose grew up in Franklin, NH and graduated from Franklin High School in 1944. She was married to William Thompson in 1947 at Worcester, Massachusetts, moved to Wisconsin and raised two sons; Marvin and Mathew. William died in 1954. Rose was married to Palmer Alvermann in 1957 and together operated a dairy farm in Forest Township for many years and raised one son, Wayne. In addition to farming, Rose worked as a housekeeper at the Camelot Motel and Forest Inn in Amery. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, feeding her hummingbirds, and tending to her large flower gardens. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest. Rose had been a resident of Golden Age Manor in Amery for the past few years.
Rose is preceded in death by her husbands, William Thompson & Palmer Alvermann;
her son, Marvin Thompson; 4 infant children; parents, Clinton & Rose Tilton;
4 brothers & 3 sisters.
