Ronald A. Pietz

Ronald A. Pietz, age 74 of Clear Lake, WI died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Amery Regional Medical Center after a long battle with lung cancer.

Ronald Arthur Pietz was born on January 2, 1940 in Dairyland, WI the son of William & Nellie (Visger) Pietz.  He grew up and lived in Dairyland until the death of his parents and then he went to live with his sister Florence in    Spokane, WA.  Ron returned to Dairyland in the 8th grade to live with his other sister Esther before moving to    Clear Lake, WI.  At this time, he lived and worked with Wilbur and Harriet Frank in Forest, WI and he graduated from Webster High School in 1958.   On October 3, 1959, Ron was married to Diane Kay Martin at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church and together they made their home in Clear Lake, WI.  At the time Ron worked for Merle Wood Heating and Plumbing.  The couple then moved to St. Paul, MN where Ron was employed at Gateway     Transportation and together raised four sons; Todd, Scott, Brian, & Thomas.   They returned to Clear Lake in 1971 and Ron has owned and operated Amery Auto Supply since 1975.   When he wasn’t working or doing yardwork, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his cabin in Dairyland.  Ron also loved sports and attended all of his sons high school games.  He enjoyed watching golf and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan.  He loved to dance and played cribbage with Diane every morning.  Ron would especially want his grandchildren to always remember that they were one of his greatest joys.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, William & Nellie Pietz;
