Roger A. Shafer, age 76 of Clear Lake, WI, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Roger Allen Shafer was born on April 19, 1948, in Amery, WI, the son of William and Eileen (Herdahl) Shafer. He grew up on the family farm in Clear Lake Township and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1966. Roger lived in Clear Lake and continued farming on the farm he grew up on. From 1968 to 1973, Roger hauled milk with his brother, Dale, and his dad with Shafer Trucking. He was married to Linda A. Anderson on June 7, 1985 at the courthouse in Balsam Lake, WI and together they raised two daughters, Kimberly & Amy. They continued to operate the family farm until 2008 when Roger retired from milking cows. In addition to farming and spending too much time on his skid steer, Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially loved being with his grandkids and family. Roger traveled to Canada several times a year for fishing and later traveled across the country with Linda. Roger was fiercely loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, William and Eileen Shafer; brother, Bill Shafer; & sister, June Becker;
