Robert “Bob” Arnold Priebe, age 80, of Clear Lake, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026 after a short stay in the Dove Healthcare center in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.
Bob was born on July 26, 1945, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Jerome and Dorothy (Haradon) Priebe and attended school in North St. Paul, MN while growing up on a farm in the suburbs. Their family moved from North St. Paul, MN to Clear Lake, WI in 1962 and Bob graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1964. Bob joined the United States Army in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1970, serving his country with honor and humility in the Vietnam War. He carried that same quiet courage throughout his life, never seeking recognition, but always deserving of it.
As the oldest of the brothers, Bob devoted his life to being a dairy farmer and farming alongside his brothers on their shared family farm in Clear Lake. He embraced the early mornings, long days, and honest hard work. Bob was a gentle and reserved man with a deeply loving heart for his family. He was a man of few words and showed his care through his actions—his steady presence, his willingness to help, and the time he spent with those he loved most. He was a devoted brother and a cherished uncle and great-uncle.
In his younger years, Bob enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, hunting, and bowling. He also found joy in playing cards, cribbage, picnics, and a good fish fry. He loved watching Gunsmoke and classic western movies and country music. A man of many talents, he was a skilled welder, woodworker, and mechanic, known for his ability to fix or build just about anything. Bob also had a special love for tractors, collecting more than 20 tractors and other farm equipment over the years with his brothers. He will be remembered as a gentle man—humble, hardworking, and deeply devoted to his family. His legacy lives on in the land he worked, the skills he passed down, and the love he quietly gave. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Dorothy Priebe; brother, Richard Priebe; and niece, Karen Loenser. He is survived by his brothers, Roger Priebe and Randolph Priebe of Clear Lake, Wisconsin, and David Anderson of Stanchfield, Minnesota. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew: Brenda (Tony) Johnson of Dresser, WI; Anna (TJ) Buhr of Clear Lake, WI; and James Priebe of Fridley, MN, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to thank Adoray Hospice and Dove Healthcare for their support and care during Bob's last few months. Funeral arrangements through Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home, Clear Lake, WI. Burial at Clear Lake Cemetery.
