Robert E. Moyer

We lost a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and most importantly, our best friend Robert Edwin Moyer Sr. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 10, 2017 at home with his beloved wife and dog near him. He lived his life with dignity and happiness that radiated to everyone around him.

For those of you who didn’t know him, he was a very good hearted man who loved to make people smile. When any of us had a bad day or needed help in anyway, he was always there with a smile and a snack. He loved garage sales, thrift stores and flea markets. He loved to find something special like a set of dishes from the White House, a centuries old bust of Cleopatra, 10,000 books he bought from a library, a McDonald’s sign that he had tied to the hood of his car or the infamous Victorian toilet that he put in the front yard. The only time he was ever mad was when one of us kids spilled his coffee and even when mad, he made us laugh.

We are grateful to God that we were blessed enough to have him in our lives as long as we did and that he is no longer suffering. There are people that preceded him in death and that are with him now: His mother Carol, father’s Hank and Duke, brothers Duke Jr. and Pat, his Aunt Jean, and Uncles Eddie, Dick and Ken.

The people who are left without his smile, kindness, stubbornness, teasing and joy are: His wife and love of his life, Carol Jean. His son Robby (Robert Edwin Jr) and son-in-law Ken. Daughters Molly and Kristi. Grandchildren: Katie (15), Mike (13), Johnny (12), Danny (10), Mackenzie (6). Sisters: Joy, Brenda, Arlene, Janis, Marilyn, Sherry. Brothers: Mike and Marty. Nieces: Terri, Katie, Melissa, Stephanie, Amanda, Nellie (George), Emily, Henny, Jessie, Shannon, Holly. Nephews: Johnny, Hank, Matt, Jacob, Jayson.

Bob had a very large family, and there are so many others that we didn’t have room to list, but he loved them all immensely.
