Richard E. Langel

Richard E. Langel, age 75 of Clear Lake, WI died on Monday evening, January 28, 2013 at his rural home.

Richard Eugene Langel was born on March 12, 1937 in Chippewa Falls, WI, the son of Edward & Jessie (Smith) Langel. He attended St. Charles Elementary School in Chippewa Falls and later attended  Janesville School for the Blind. He moved with his family to Frederic, WI and graduated from Frederic High School in 1958. After graduating, Richard worked in and around the Frederic area, doing farm work, building silos, working at Duncan YoYo and at Stokely’s Canning. He joined the Carpenter’s Union in 1964. Richard was married to Patricia McCann on September 4, 1965 at Immaculate Conception Church in Grantsburg, WI. In 1967, they made their home in Clear Lake and together raised three children, Janette, Daniel, & Nancy. Over the years Richard worked as a construction carpenter in the Twin Cities until he retired in 1992. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, bird watching and landscaping. Richard was a very active member at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake. He loved spending time with family and friends.  He will be sorely missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Edward & Jessie Langel; brother, Robert Langel;
brothers-in-law, Ted Johnson, William McCann, & Fred David McCann; sister-in-law, Clarice Langel.

Funeral Service - Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake, WI
Visitation - Friday, February 1, 2013 from 5 - 7 pm at the Scheuermann Funeral Home and an hour before the service
on Saturday at the church.
Parish Prayer Service will be on Friday at 6:45 pm at the Funeral Home.
Interment at the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, WI
