Raymond Clinton Newville, age 76, of Prairie Farm, WI passed away on January 29, 2025, at his residence after losing his battle to colon cancer.
Ray was born on July 26, 1948, to Lyle and Edith (Halberg) Newville in Amery WI. After graduating from Turtle Lake high school in 1966, he left for San Diego where he joined the USMC and was deployed to the Philippines. When he came home, he started working at a dairy farm where he met Nyla Ford. The couple married in 1973 and had 2 children Laina (Newville) Wren and William Newville. In 1998 he retired from Polaris and on to writing his novels and poems full time and spending time with family. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and sister Lila and other family members. Ray is survived by his wife Nyla of 51 years and his children, along with his 7 grand kids and 4 great grandkids, as well as his brothers Dean and Richard Newville and sister Juanita Potter.
A memorial service will be held on Feb 15, 2025, at St John’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake, WI at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation an hour prior and a lunch will follow the service.
Burial will be on Feb 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Spooner at the Northern WI Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
