Phillip E. Rogers, age 90 of Clear Lake, WI passed away early on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home in Amery, WI.
Phillip Erliing Rogers was born on April 27, 1935 to Clara Perry in Eau Claire, WI and when he was 3 years old moved to Connersville with his mother and stepfather Phillip Eugene Rogers. In 1946, Phillip moved to what became the family farm near Deer Park, WI. As a teenager he began working for John and Joanne Ronnigan in Hammond, WI and for Utgard Chicken Hatchery in Star Prairie, WI while he attended High School in Hammond.
In 1954, Phillip enlisted in the United States Air Force. After basic training, he landed in Bremerhaven, Germany before his transfer to his assignment in Bordeaux, France where he served as an MP on the base. Phillip received an honorable discharge after a request to return home for a family emergency and assumed responsibilities of the Rogers farm. On August 3, 1955, Phillip was married to Lorna Sempf. Together they made their home in Clear Lake, WI and were blessed to raise three daughters, Pam, Laurie & Brenda. Over those years, he worked for Doboy’s in New Richmond and later at Farmers’ Cooperative Creamery in Clear Lake as the LP gas serviceman for 8 years. In 1965, Phil began working for Andersen Windows and retired from there after 32 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical skills, and the ability to fix almost anything that "broke down" or needed repairs. Phil enjoyed working on old tractors and engines, fishing at Lake Superior and Canada, deer hunting with his sons-in-law and later his grandsons, but his pride and joy was caring for his apple orchard. He renewed his interest in bicycling during winters in Yuma, AZ and visiting nearby Algondones, Mexico. Phillip enjoyed time riding his John Deere, mowing and caring for their beautiful yard and sharing his love of "tinkering" with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He marveled how carefully they would observe things that he did, they loved being alongside Grandpa in the pole shed. Phil also made furniture for his daughters and daughter-in-law’s and wooden tractors for his great grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
