Orda J. Tronrud, age 96 of Menomonie, WI died July 5, 2013 at Dunn County Care Center of Menomonie WI.
Orda Juliet Tronrud was born on Sept. 29, 1916 in Madelia Township, MN the daughter of Herman and Marie Anderson. She grew up in Madelia, was baptized on October 15, 1916 and later confirmed in 1930 at First Lutheran Church in Madelia and also attended District 11 Country School there. Orda was married to Arnold C. Tronrud on August 31, 1938 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Prairie Farm, WI and together they operated a dairy farm in Arland Township from 1938-1956 and raised one son, Douglas. They moved to a farm in Brown County near Hanska, MN before moving back to Vance Creek in 1970. Orda and Arnold continued to work their dairy farm until Arnold retired in 1989. They then moved to Menomonie to be close to their son and his family and have lived there for the past 24 years. Arnold passed away Sept. 28, 2002 in Menomonie. Her daughter-in-law has taken care of her since that time. Orda enjoyed her grandchildren, shopping, baking, and sewing. She was a member of West Akers Lutheran Church in New Haven Township, WI.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Marie;
husband, Arnold; and son Douglas; four brothers, Gordon, Arden, Garland & Bernard; and sister, Myrtle.
Survived by Daughter in Law - Kathy Tronrud of Menomonie, WI.
Grandchildren - Douglas Jr., Cynthia, & Sandra of Menomonie, WI.
Great grandchild - Matthew Tronrud
Sisters - Hilma Kelly of St. James, MN
& Luella Schofield of Madelia, MN
Brother - Herman Anderson of Madelia, MN
She will be sadly missed at home by her family.
