Oliva Kuhn Obituary

Oliva “Marie” Ford Wildt Kuhn

Oliva “Marie” Kuhn, age 89, of Turtle Lake,WI, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Luther Midelfort Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

Oliva Marie Kuhn was born on January 3, 1925 in Weatherford, Texas, the daughter of Frank W. and Maude M. (Coker) Ford.  She grew up in Texas and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1942.  She married Noel Richard Wildt on January 3rd, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Richard was in the Navy so while he was away serving she stayed with her parents in Corpus Christi.  To this union 3 sons were born: James, David and Terry.  They moved to a farm in Clear Lake, WI in 1960.  Richard and Marie's dad, Frank, worked in the Twin Cities as cement masons and came home on the weekends. This left Marie and her mother to care for the boys and the farm.  Marie's mother died in November 1965, with Richard following in December 1966.  That left Marie to take care of 3 boys and the farm along with her dad.  She met Wesley while Richard was receiving treatment at Miller Hospital.  Wesley’s wife, Elaine, was also being treated for cancer at Miller and passed around the same time as Richard. The one thing that Elaine asked of Wesley was that he take care of Marie when she was gone.  Marie and Wesley married October 14th, 1967.  They ran the farm in Clear Lake until 1971 when they moved to a bigger farm near Reeve, WI.  They moved into a new house less then a mile from the farm in 1978 and in 2005 moved into an apartment in Turtle Lake.  Wesley passed away in 2009.  Marie enjoyed visiting friends and family and the playing slots at the casino.  She loved feeding and watching the birds when they lived in the country.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maude; her husband Richard; her husband Wesley and her son James, step-daughter Janet Magnuson.

Survived by her brother James and his wife Cora of Victoria, TX, her sister-in-law Pauline Longwell of Mission, TX, her daughter-in-law Patsy Wildt of Balsam Lake, WI, her son David and his wife Linda of Clayton, WI, and her son Terry and his wife Susan of Barron, WI, her son Jerry Kuhn and his wife ViAnn of Amery, WI, son-in-law Mylon Magnuson of Clear Lake, WI; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way and 3 great great grandchildren along with many more nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
