Lynn Dreier Obituary

In Loving Memory

Lynn "Buck" Dreier

November 5, 1953 – November 14, 2024

Lynn “Buck” Dreier, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Lynn’s legacy is one of love, adventure, and cherished family bonds.

Born on November 5, 1953, in Clear Lake, WI, to Lyman and Irene Dreier, Lynn grew up with a deep appreciation for family and hard work. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1971 and embarked on a fulfilling career, first as a farmer and later as an over-the-road truck driver for more than 30 years.  Lynn loved life on the open road, finding freedom and joy in traveling coast to coast. His loyal co-pilot, Bentley, a King Charles Cavalier who rarely left his side, shared those journeys, making every mile an adventure.

Lynn lived in New Richmond, WI, for much of his life before returning to his hometown of Clear Lake two decades ago. Wherever he went, he made an impression with his quick wit, warm heart, and endearing nickname, “Buck.” For his family, hearing him referred to as “Lynn” by others always brought a smile, as "Buck" was the name that truly fit the man they loved so deeply.

Lynn’s life was rich with passions that brought joy to him and those around him. He had a lifelong love of tractor pulling and proudly competed with his beloved John Deere 4010 tractor, a pastime that connected him to the farming roots he cherished. He also loved exploring Wisconsin’s trails in his side-by-side ATV with Jill & friends and was an enthusiastic member of the New Richmond Trailblazers snowmobile club. An outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed fishing, family bonfires, card playing, and working with his friend, Matt Magnuson, to tap trees for maple syrup. Lynn also had a    special talent for grilling, mastering his Traeger grill to delight his family during gatherings filled with laughter and love.

Above all, Lynn’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Jill (Sinesh); his children, Lori Jarchow, Scott (Sofia) Dreier, and Jennifer (Matt) Johnston; and his adored grandchildren: Alex, Nick, Hailey, Sophia, Myles, Aubrey, and Ryan. He is also survived by his siblings, Chris (Dave), Mike (Marlene), Tim (Andrea), and Anne, along with countless friends and family.

Lynn’s kindness, humor, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed, but also lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the stories shared around family bonfires, the trails he loved to explore, and the delicious meals he grilled for those he cared about most.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024  from 3  -  6 pm  at  the Speakeasy Event Center in Clear Lake, WI followed by a funeral service there at 6 pm.    Burial will be  10 am on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

In honor of Lynn, the family asks that you consider spending time outdoors, cherishing your loved ones, and embracing the adventures life has to offer.  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
