Laurel J. Paulson

Laurel J. Paulson, age 92 of Clear Lake, WI, died early on Friday morning, December 14, 2012 at the Amery Regional Medical Center.

Laurel June Paulson was born on June 3, 1920, in Forest Township, WI, the daughter of George & Evalina (Kuhn) Matter. She grew up in the Clear Lake area, attended Woodland Elementary School and graduated from Clear Lake Union Free High School in 1940.    On August 5, 1944, Laurel was married to Paul Arden Paulson at the Forest United Methodist Church and together they farmed in the Clear Lake area for many years  and raised four children, Cheryl, Karen, Craig, & Paul.   Over the years,  Laurel had been an active member at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, acting at various times as       treasurer and secretary with the ladies aid.   She was also an active member of the Clear Lake VFW Ladies Auxiliary and in her spare time enjoyed gardening.   Laurel loved visiting and being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She had been a resident of Willow Ridge in Amery for the past year and will be sorely missed by all that knew her.    

Laurel is preceded in death by her husband Arden Paulson;  daughter, Karen Wittstock; daughter in law, Caron Paulson;  her parents, George & Evalina Matter;  brothers, Lorne, Earl, Kenneth, & Curtis Matter;  & sister, Elburta Wienke;
