Laura M. van der Veken

Laura M. van der Veken, age 49 of Clear Lake, WI, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 20, 2014  as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Laura Maria ven der Veken was born on July 26, 1964, in Nyack, NY, the daughter of Laurent & Maria (Erens) van der Veken.    She lived with her family in New York, Holland, Texas, Iowa, and Wisconsin.    Laura  graduated from Garrison High School in Garrison, TX in 1982 and went on to Panola Jr. College in Carthage, TX where she became an LPN.    She later attended Northeast Iowa Technical Institute in Calmar, IA where she became an RN and later moved with her family to the farm in Clear Lake, WI  in 1990.   Laura then attended Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI and graduated with honors with a bachelors degree in nurses training.  She taught nurses aide classes for WITC in New Richmond, WI and also worked and conducted training with the Red Cross.   Laura loved  gardening, her animals, helping people, and took care of her parents for many years.   Laura was a devout Catholic and her faith was evident in the way she lived her life and to those many people who’s lives she touched along the way.   She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Jozef  van der Veken

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, on Wednesday,  June 25, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in
Clear Lake, WI

Visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church
