Jean B. Danielson

Jean Beth Danielson, age 95 of Clear Lake, WI, died peacefully at the Amery Hospital surrounded by family on April 11, 2017.

Jean was born December 4, 1921, in Black Brook Township to parents Selmer and Eliza (Utgaard) Berglund.  She was baptized in 1921 and confirmed in 1934 at the Deer Park Methodist Church.  Jean attended Northview Grade School and graduated from Amery High School in 1939.  She attended Polk County Normal College and taught at a country school for one year.   On April 24, 1943, Jean was married to Kenneth Leroy Danielson in Wichita Falls, Texas while Ken served in the Army Air Corps. They were married for 61 years.

Ken and Jean moved to the Clear Lake Community in 1949 and raised their 6 children.   Jean was a member of the Methodist church for over 95years, taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the UWM (president & secretary), the Rebekah Lodge, Eastern Star Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary (55 years), Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary, (state officer for 10 years), National Rural Letter Carrier Association, Polk County RLCA Officer (35 years) and member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.   Jean was also a Cub Scout Den mother and volunteered over 27 years at the Clear Lake Elementary School, where many children called her “Grandma Jean”.   She loved to give all the children treats for the many holidays throughout the school year.

Jean is preceded in death by her Husband, Kenneth Danielson;   Granddaughter, Kara Danielson; Parents, Selmer and Eliza Berglund;  and Sister, Harriet Maloney.

She is survived by her Children  -  Richard, (Vickie) Danielson, Robert Danielson, Mary (William) Ouellette, Betty Rake, James (Nancy) Danielson, and John Danielson.

Grandchildren  -  Jackie (Brian) DiLaura, Angie (Anson) Kendall, Deena Danielson, Kenneth and Anna Danielson, and Joey (Ben) Delaney, Great grandchildren: Nicholas and Emmaline DiLaura, Evelyn and Emelia Danielson, Paxton Kendall, Owen Delany, several Step-Grandchildren and Step-Great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be 11 AM on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake, WI.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home from 4-8 PM and an hour before at the church on Friday.
