Irma L. Benson (Westring)

Irma L. Benson (Westring),  age 94 of Clear Lake, WI,  died on Monday , February 16, 2015, at Willow Ridge Health Care in Amery, WI.

Irma Lucille Benson was born on October 28, 1920, in Meteor, Rusk County, WI the daughter of Frank & Anna (Lundquist) Peak.  She was the fourth of five children.  Irma was baptized in the Lutheran Faith at infancy and attended several grade schools in MN and WI, graduating from Webster High School in 1938.  In 1940 she was married to Paul Westring and together they farmed his home place in Spirit Lake, Burnett County, WI.  Together they raised three children, Roger, Doris and Pauline.  Irma was also active in Homemakers, 4H, church activities, and raised a large garden with many flowers.   In 1968 they moved to Frederic, WI where she worked as a teachers aid  for 13 years and as a substitute bus driver for 6 years.  Paul died in 1975.  In 1981, Irma married Allan Benson and moved to Clear Lake, WI.  They    enjoyed many years traveling, sight seeing, dancing, and spending the winters in Texas.  She was active in the Clear Lake VFW  Auxiliary, the Clear Lake Community and Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Amery, WI.   Allan died in 2007.  Irma had been a resident of Ridgeview in Clear Lake for the past 8 years.  She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

brothers, Ray and LeRoy;   sisters,  Ruth and Gladys;
granddaughters, Tricia Greinke & Natalie Yanez

Memorial Service on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at  11am  from Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Amery, WI

Clergy  -  Pastor Keith Ruehlow

Visitation  -  One hour before the service at the church on Saturday from 10 - 11 am.

Interment  -  Maple Grove Cemetery,  Frederic, WI

Memorials are preferred
