Irene I. Streif

Irene I. Streif, age 86 of Clear Lake, WI,  passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Willow Ridge Health Care Center in Amery, WI.  
  
Irene Isabel Streif was born on July 19, 1926,  in Forest Township, WI the daughter of Oscar &Julia (Holly) Logan.    She grew up in the Forest area, was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Forest, attended Green Creek Grade School and later Clear Lake High School.   Irene moved to New Richmond, WI to waitress for a short time before moving to         Minneapolis to work at Sears.  During World War II she worked in the machine shop at National Bushing in Minneapolis, helping to supply the troops with war materials.   After the war ended, Irene returned to Wisconsin and was  married to Richard Streif on June 13, 1946 at the United Methodist Church in Deer Park.  Together they raised one daughter, Virginia, and they later divorced.   During this time she worked for Chas Nordahl and later at Friday Canning. In 1970, Richard and Irene        reunited and she then moved back to the Twin Cities where she worked for K.P. Manufacturing for several years.  Irene then went to work in the  machine shop at the Sexton Building before settling in at Phillips Manufacturing until 1990.  It was then that  she retired and moved back to Clear Lake, WI.   In her spare time, Irene enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Horseshoe Lake.  She also enjoyed  roller skating, trout fishing, bowling, camping, traveling, garage sales & collecting antiques.  
 
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Streif;  husband, Richard Streif;                 parents, Oscar & Julia Logan;  
brothers and sisters,  Clarence Logan, Margaret Sacre, Florence Larson, Elmer Logan, Helen Logan
