Gary F. York

Gary F. York,  age 69 of Reeve,  WI, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, September 2, 2023. 

 Gary Francis York was born on May 12,  1954 in Wabasha, MN  the son of James & Rosemary (Croud) Stanek.  He was adopted by John & Florence York in 1965 and attended St. Lawrence Catholic School in St. Paul, MN for a short time  before moving to Somerset, WI.    Gary grew up in Somerset and graduated from high school there in 1972.  He joined the US Navy in 1973 for a brief stint and later enlisted in the US Army.   On May 3, 1975, Gary was married to Pamela Johnson at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond, WI and together they made their home there.  Gary was honorably discharged from military service in 1977 and he began working as a truck driver.  In 1989, Gary and Pam moved and made their home in Reeve, WI and together raised 5 children, Mickey, Chad, Francine, Travis & Brad.   Over the years, Gary worked in and around the area in construction, mostly concrete work.   He retired in 2009.  Gary was known for his wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed the company of his family and friends.  He loved to travel, especially motorcycle trips to South Dakota.  Gary loved the out doors, camping, rock collecting and operating his skid ster.  He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, James & Rosemary  Stanek   &   John & Florence York; 

brother, Thomas York;  grandson, Bryce York;  & nephew, Tommy York.

He is survived by

There will be a Celebration of Garys’s  Life on  Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 2-6 pm at the

Vance Creek Town Hall  in Reeve, WI.    Interment will be at Reeve Cemetery.

Scheuermann Funeral Home and Cremation Services are handling the arrangements.
