Gail E. Clark

Gail  E.  Clark,  age 97  of Clear Lake, WI, died on Sunday  on January 7, 2024 at the Amery Hospital in Amery, WI. 

Gail  Elaine Clark was born on was born on January 9, 1926 in Amery, WI  the daughter of Clarence & Luella (McKinstry) Gorres.  She grew up in Amery, WI and graduated from Amery High School in 1944.  On September 20, 1947, Gail was married to Wayne L. Clark at East Immanuel Lutheran Church in Deer Park, WI in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Fay & her husband Walter “Bud” Lee.   Gail and Wayne made their home in Clear Lake, WI and raised one daughter, Candyce.  Gail worked several years for dentist Dr. Victor Knerr before going to work for the US Postal Service.  She spent 26 years there and served her last 7 years as the postmaster in Clear Lake before she retired.   In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading, especially the daily newspaper.  Gail was also very active as a member of First Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, making quilts and serving with the ladies aid.  She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Clark;  her parents,  Clarence & Luella Gorres;  brother Lyle “Butch” Gorres;  sister, Margie Davidson;  & brother in law, Dr. Darrel (Katsy) Clark

Memorial Service will be at the First Lutheran Church in Clear Lake,  Wisconsin on

Tuesday, January 16, 2023  at 11 A.M.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 15, 2024  from 4   -  7 pm at  First Lutheran Church in Clear Lake,  WI

And an hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.

Interment at  Clear Lake Cemetery in Clear Lake, WI
