Fred W. Hofer

Fred W. Hofer,  age 58 Clear Lake, WI,  died unexpectedly on Friday, May 20, 2017, at the Amery Regional Medical Center.

Fred William Hofer was born on August 30, 1958, in St. Paul, MN the son of William & Isabel (Johnson) Hofer,  Jr.   He grew up in Oakdale, MN and graduated from Tartan High School there in 1977.    After graduation, Fred served for a short time with the US Marine Corps.   In 1980, he was married to Nancy Fullerton and later divorced.   Over the years he worked in the Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin as a landscaper.  Also during this time he worked as a bouncer at the Payne Reliever Bar and Grill in St. Paul, MN and most recently was employed at Jerome’s Turkey Store in Barron, WI.   On May 30, 1990, Fred was married to Wanda Duval and after some moving around the area,  eventually settled down and made their home near Clear Lake, WI.    In his spare time he enjoyed  being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, camping, and trapping.  Fred also enjoyed Stock Car Dirt Track Racing and watching Westerns on TV.  He was a member of the United Covenant Church in Clear Lake and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
