Ethel Genevieve DeCraciun was born May 19, 1920 at Rocky Knoll Farm, the Palmer homestead in Clear Lake, WI. She was the only child of Elmer and Yerda (Peterson) Palmer. Ethel was raised there and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1938. After graduating she worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Goldsworthy in Clear Lake. Ethel was married to Max DeCraciun on April 12, 1944 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Amery. Together they raised three children, Tom, Jerry and Dawn. She especially loved bowling and was involved in two Leagues into her 80’s. Later she enjoyed Wii bowling. Ethel was also a member of First Lutheran Church, serving on the church council and was a member of the choir and often soloist. She loved working with the Quilting Ladies and preparing for the annual Smorgasbord, making lefse, sandbakkles and fruit soup. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In 2010, due to declining mobility Ethel moved to River Bend Assisted Living in Amery and since September of 2013 she was a resident of Willow Ridge Healthcare.
