Edward A. Bannink

Edward A Bannink, age 86 of Clear Lake, WI, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Edward Allen Bannink was born on May 7, 1926 in Vance Creek Township, Barron County, WI, the son of Albert & Anna (Grosbeck) Bannink.  He grew up near Reeve, WI, and attended school there.  Ed was baptized and confirmed at St. Barnabas  Episcopal church in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1945.  He joined the US Army in 1953 and served in Germany until he was honorably discharged in 1955.  Ed was married to Kathlyn M. Johnson at her family’s home in Reeve on June 20, 1959.   Together they operated a dairy farm in Reeve and raised six children, Betty, Al, Laurie, Sherri, Amy, & Jenny.  In addition to farming, Ed also worked at Anderson Corporation in Bayport, MN and drove a milk tanker for Pat & Mammie Wilson of Reeve.   He later worked as a mail carrier around the Clear Lake area and also drove school bus for Clear Lake Schools for 37 years.  In his spare time he enjoyed photography and was known for showing various films and movies in Reeve, Clear Lake and Clayton.  Ed has been a life long member of St. Barnabas church in Clear Lake and has been a resident of the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home in Amery since January of 2011.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Bannink;  parents, Albert & Anna Bannink;  and an infant sister.

Funeral Services on Monday, at 1:30 pm on October 22, 2012 at St. Barnanbas Episcopal Church in Clear Lake, WI.

Visitation - Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 4 - 8 pm at the Scheuermann Funeral Home in         Clear Lake  and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
