Clinton Stein, age 87, died Saturday night, July 18, 2015, surrounded by family at GracePointe Crossing Care Center in Cambridge, MN.
Clinton Wilford Stein was born May 8, 1928 in Stockholm, WI, the son of Wilford and Rubie Stein. He grew up farming and enjoyed a music ministry with his family, singing and playing in area churches. At age 24, he was inducted into the U.S. Army. In August 1953, he married his sweetheart, Pauline, at the Mission Covenant Church in Lund, WI. For several years, they resided in Minneapolis, MN where Clint drove for Greyhound Bus Lines. In 1957, they moved to Amery, WI where they raised their two children, Julie and Paul. For 24 years Clint operated a wholesale fruit and vegetable business supplying stores and restaurants in northwestern Wisconsin. For the next 12 years, Clint worked at NorLake in Hudson, WI building walk-in coolers. During his retirement years, he returned to his love of driving by plowing snow and mowing ditches for Lincoln Township until he was 79.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, and brother-in-law, Willis Erickson.
He is survived by daughter, Julie (Stanley) Ellis of Mahtomedi, MN; son, Paul (Jann) Stein of Lino Lakes, MN;
grandchildren, Angela (Brian) Metcalf, Robert (Meghan) Ellis, Jordan (Kari) Ellis, Michelle Stein & Andrew Stein;
great-granddaughters, Makayla, Kylee and Chloe; brother Gerry (Bonnie) Stein of Plum City, WI;
sister-in-law, Elaine Erickson of Balsam Lake, WI; and extended family of nieces, nephews, friends & loved ones.
Funeral Service 11 am on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the United Covenant Church in Clear Lake, WI
Visitation on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the church from 9:30 to 11 am
