Bonnie Benson Obituary

Bonnie L. Benson, age 61, of Clear Lake, WI, “Crossed the Rainbow Bridge” peacefully on November 3, 2012 at the Amery Regional Medical Center in Amery, WI.

Bonnie Lee Benson was born on April 24, 1951 in Amery, WI, the daughter of Howard & Loretta Johnson.  She grew up in Horse Creek, WI, attending a country elementary school in Cedar Lake and graduating from Osceola High School in 1969.

She was employed a few years at Blanca Aircraft and later at Anderson Corporation for 21 years until she retired in 2006.

Bonnie & Denny were married in Roanoke, VA on October 10, 2003 with a honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Moving into their new home in Clear Lake is where Bonnie’s  talents flourished in her creative  designs in the yard, ponds, lighting, fountains, flower beds (domestic & wild) and native grasses.   Many of her floral arrangements found their way on to the church altar on Sundays.

Bonnie was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Clear Lake.  She attended Bible Studies, quilted, and created prayer shawls and dresses for African Ministries.  She also sewed baby sleepers which were sent to Children’s Hospitals.

Bonnie was a member of the Clear Lake Park Board and enjoyed planting and tending to the beautiful flower beds until her health failed.  Her hobbies included traveling, fishing, turkey hunting, birds (watching, feeding, & restoring houses), bowling, crafts and baking.  She was also a clown in the Osceola parade for many years and an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Her spirit and passion for life (a flavor of quick wit and humor) endeared herself to others.  Her       beautiful smile was a signature of her unique personality and an inspiration to all who were touched by her journey.

Bonnie was intrigued by God’s creation of rainbows and claims that she will make a rainbow dress and dance for us.  She was amazingly tough in her fight with ovarian cancer and is now at peace in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.

I have fought the good fight.  I have finished the race.  I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7
