Arlene G. Johnson

Arlene G. Johnson, age 85 of Clear Lake, WI, died on January 22, 2013 at Judy's Cottage at the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home in Amery, WI.

Arlene  Gladys Johnson was born on October 24, 1927 in Amery, WI the daughter of John & Hannah Norlund.  She grew up in Apple River Townhship, attended Happy Hollow Grade School and graduated from Balsam Lake High School in 1945.   After graduation, Arlene went to work at the arsenal in New Brighton, MN and worked there after WWII.    She was married to Virgil Johnson on May 25, 1947 in Center City, MN and together they built and made their home in Range, WI.   They also adopted and raised three children; LuAnn, Lorna, & Clifton.  In 1970, Arlene moved her family to Clear Lake, WI.  In addition to taking care of her family, over the years she has worked at  Dehlere’s  Store in Amery, WI, drove gravel truck, and at Nilssen’s Store in Clear Lake.    In her younger days, Arlene enjoyed softball, bike riding, and bowling.  She enjoyed watching and following the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.   Arlene especially loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was a member of the Clear Lake VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Hannah Norlund;  brothers, Albert, Leonard & Donald Norlund;
& sister, Lorraine Carlson.
