Ardeth A. Clark, age 81 of Clear Lake, WI, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Amery Hospital after an 11 month battle with a brain tumor.
Ardeth Arlene Clark was born on December 11, 1933, in Almena, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Ethel (Tornio) Dold. She grew up in the Turtle Lake area, was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1951. Ardeth was married to Charles Clark on July 25, 1952 and they made their home in Clear Lake. They raised four children, Mary, Thomas, John and Charles. In addition to raising her family and being a homemaker, Ardeth worked throughout her life in the Clear Lake community. She was employed by Alice Barthman at the A & J Skogmo Store, Dr. Meredith Moore's veterinary clinic and for many years as the bookkeeper for the Clear Lake School District. She was instrumental in establishing the Clear Lake Museum Chronicle newspaper and ran it for many years as well as being active at the Clear Lake Area Historical Museum. Ardeth was an active member of St. John's Catholic Church for 62 years, serving with St. John's Guild, the choir, Parish Council and in many other capacities. She especially enjoyed working with all the crafting ladies for the Christmas and spring sales. For many years, she was the "official" gravy maker for parish dinners. She loved quilting, sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking and reading. Her love of precision, choice of fabrics and color made her quilts true works of art. Her children and grandchildren were the beneficiaries of her many stitches. Ardeth and Charles enjoyed travel and took many trips in the United States and abroad, including trips to England, Germany, Switzerland and Greece along with taking numerous Buckley Baseball Tours. She loved watching sporting events although she always felt much better when our team was way ahead! She loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. During these past eleven months, she said many times, "I've had a great life."
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Ethel Dold; sister, Geraldine Becker;
Brothers in Law, Hippocrates Mastromichalis, Marvin Johnson, Rodney Becker and Jack Fredrick.
