Ardella A. Monson

Ardella A. Monson, age 95 of Amery, WI, formerly of Clear Lake, WI, died on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Judy’s Cottage Memory Care in Amery, WI. 

Ardella Augusta Monson was born on August 23, 1929 in Sheridan Township, WI the daughter of William & Alma (Stoveren) Allram.  She grew up in the Prairie Farm area and was baptized and confirmed at West Akers Lutheran Church.  Ardella attended Vanceberg, Prairie Farm Heights, Jones Creek, & Forest Grove country schools and graduated from Clear Lake Union Free High School in 1947.   On September 10, 1948, she was united in marriage to Walter V. Monson at West Akers Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm, WI and together they raised 6 children, Kimberly, Derry, Terry, Jan, Vaughn and Mark.  In addition to being a wife and mother, Ardella was employed in various bookkeeping jobs over the years including working at Clear Lake Schools.  She was the first woman to serve on the Vance Creek Board and was clerk for the town for 11 years.  Ardella was also a very active member of West Akers Church, serving as the Ladies Aid President and Sunday School Superintendent for many years.   She was active with Walter helping with the Reeve 4-H Club for over 25 years.    In her spare time Ardella enjoyed golfing, bowling, square dancing and spending time with her family and friends.  She enjoyed traveling and took many trips across the country and overseas.  Her and Walter spent many years wintering in Arizona and Florida.  In 2004 they moved from Reeve to Clear Lake and in 2016 they made their home in Amery.  She has been a resident of Judy’s Cottage for the past 2 years and will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. 

Ardella is preceded in death by her husband, Walter; son, Vaughn Monson; parents, William & Alma Allram;
