Jimmy B. “JJ” Junkans, age 61 of Clear Lake, WI died suddenly on Friday, October 20, 2017 at  Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Jimmy Boyd Junkans was born on October 19, 1956 in Amery, WI, the son of Boyd & Delores (Engebretson) Junkans.  He grew up in the Clear Lake area and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1975.  After graduation, Jimmy joined the US Army and served his country for four years.  He was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and for a short time in Germany.  After Jimmy was honorably discharged, because of a medical condition; hence the scars on his neck, he returned to Clear Lake and worked at Hartzel Manufacturing in Turtle Lake.  In  2000 he worked for Eckwall Construction in Clear Lake.  Jimmy was best known for being a collector of sorts, who loved attending auctions, garage sales, and flea markets and made his living operating a salvage business from his home.  Jimmy was always on the go, he was known for his sense of humor, who was always there for people and he loved everyone; you would always be greeted with a smile.  Jimmy will by sorely missed by his family and friends.

"J.J. My Man" My life is not going to be the same without you here. Your humor, endless jokes, helping hand, stories, etc. There is only one J.J. in heaven, I can assure you of that! Your legacy will live on in the memories of all who had the great pleasure of knowing you. You were the only friend who ever said, "love ya man" to me. I love you too my friend and will miss you every day and never forget you.

I've only seen Jimmy infrequently in the last forty years. My memory of him was a fun loving and generous person. He would rather help someone rather than ask to be helped. He was a "salt of the earth" type person. I understand the life was hard for him with various health problems and I am sorry for that. I will always think of him fondly.

JJ, my dear friend, you were put on this earth to make the world smile and laugh and you did that better than anyone. You are the kindest, most selfless person I have known. Our hearts are broken. Go rest high on that Mountain and keep the other angels laughing! You will be missed dearly.

To the family of JJ,

I met JJ when I started working for my auctioneer nephew Robbie Kobs as JJ attended Robbie's auctions regularly. When I think of JJ, the first thing I see is his smile which always made me smile. He was known and loved by many for his great sense of humor and, oh, those darn jokes he told! JJ will be missed and never forgotten. Be certain that time will lighten your heavy hearts. May you find peace in knowing that JJ is free of pain. God bless you all.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
