James Morelock Obituary

James L. Morelock, age 79 of Clear Lake, WI, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. 

 James LeRoy Morelock was born on October 26, 1944 in Beloit, WI, the son of  Jesse & Dorothy (Moate Eudey) Morelock.    He grew up in Maynard, Iowa, and graduated from Maynard High School in 1962.   After graduation, James went to work at General Motors in Janesville, WI before he was inducted into the US Army in 1966.   He served a tour of duty in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1968.  On October 20, 1969, James was married to Joyce Hellund and together they raised two children, Steven and Shiela.  During this time, Jim helped operate the family farm in Iowa before moving to Brodhead, WI where he worked as a mechanic and later owned and operated his own welding business in New Glarus, WI.  After several years, James moved his family to Osceola, WI.  During this time, he was employed at International Implement in East Farmington, WI.  He and Joyce divorced in 1985.  On February 11, 2000, Jim was married to Mona Martin Banks in Balsam Lake and together they made their home in Clear Lake, WI.   During this time, he worked as a mechanic for Baraboo Implement in St. Croix Falls and later at OXBO in Clear Lake, WI.  In his spare time, Jim enjoyed woodworking and repairing and maintaining tractors.  He also enjoyed riding side by side, volunteering at the Clear Lake Park Board building picnic tables and helping with other   projects there.   Jim was an active member of the Clear Lake VFW and attended Moe Lutheran Church.  He loved   spending time with his family, especially his dogs Chubbs & Rascal. 

 

Jim is proceeded in death by  his wife, Mona Morelock;   parents, Jesse & Dorothy (Moate-Eudey) Morelock; 

step father; Spurgeon Eudey,  & brother, Roger Morelock

Memorial Service  will be  at  11am on Friday, March 8,  2024  at  Moe Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, WI.

Visitation  -  Friday,  March 8,  2024  at  Moe Lutheran Church one hour before the service.

 Clergy  -  Pastor Margaret Grant     

Interment at the Northern WI Veterans Cemetery in Spooner, WI. with full Military Honors
